Gaming takes new turns
So, you’ve probably read articles about various games that are being produced this year. You’ve heard all abou the new graphics, the new controls, perhaps a new damage system or two, and heard the occasional “Our game is way better than theirs!!” Syndrome.
But what on earth does this change?? Games are games, 3D or not, right? Perhaps, but now there is more to them than meets the eye. Each seems to be taking on it’s own very “personality” in a way, by what it includes. Need for Speed: Prostreet, Idiana Jones and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed are all good examples, and all push game genres to new levels of compelling excitement and action and adventure.
Need for Speed: Prostreet has many new features utilized for Racing style games, like an improved Damage Control System (Read up on TechZone for more information) Idiana Jones features a much more advanced AI system and Long term thinking, as an Example; If you, as Indy Himself, throw a goon off a top of a bus for instance, he displays excellent short term thinking by scrambling and trying desperately to grab on to the side of the bus, he may get a hold and jumb back on top to fight you again or might simply fall off and become a human example of Roadkill.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, however, promises to take classic RPG (Role Playing Game) to new heights and raise the competition bar. The things you can do in the game are virtually limitless, from using simple force tricks to pull an object towards yourself or using more…. drastic….. powers, like making the very ceiling above you tumble down uopn your adversary.
